10 Students Arrested by Police For Abducting Polytechnic Undergraduate in Ado-Ekiti.

Security Operative has reportedly nabbed some students of The Crown Polytechnic in Ado-Ekiti for abducting a fellow student, Akiode Akinyemi and demanding more than Two Million Naira (N2,000,000) ransom from his family members.

Sunday Abutu, the Police spokesperson confirmed to newsmen on Friday that the abduction occurred on June 19, noting that it was not reported to the police initially.

Channelstv.com gathered that a gang of suspected kidnappers sneaked into the hostel of the victim, blindfolded him and bounded him away to an unknown destination.

The parents of the abducted student, while trying to get their son released spoken through the phone with the suspects and a total sum of ₦2,200,000 was paid by them into eight different bank accounts as provided by the suspects.

But operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the police successfully trailed and arrested the 14 suspects at different locations out of which 10 were found to be students of the same polytechnic being attended by the victim.

Also speaking, Tunde Mobayo, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, condemned the crime and implored the general public to always work together with police by supplying relevant information and whistle-blowing.
