Armed Men Invade Aso-Rock, Loot Buhari’s Chief of Staff Residence Among Others

Insecurity in Nigeria has taken an extremely dangerous dimension, as armed robbers invade Aso-rock, casting away Buhari’s Chief of Staff belongings and that of his Admin officer.

Reports suggested that the armed robbers attacked Gambari’s official residence and that of Maikano, who is the Admin officer, casting away valuable items and money from both houses.

This security breach at the Presidential Villa, which many considered as the most secured, has raised more fears that the rising insecurity across the country is fast drawing closer to the seat of power than expected.

The Armed men, according to Peoples Gazette which claimed to have first-hand information about the raid, invaded the residences of two senior aides to President Muhammadu Buhari inside the precinct of the Presidential Villa and robbed them of their belongings.

The newspaper, which cited administrative officials and security sources, noted that the information of the invasion was being guarded with the utmost secrecy to avoid the nation from being sent into frenzy.

Sources further revealed that the incident occurred on the 9th of May, prompting the Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari, and Abubakar Maikano, admin officer, to abandon their residences respectively.

An aide to one of the affected official who spoke to Peoples Gazette says:

Their houses were robbed and the robbers packed money and other valuable assets from both houses,

The robbers took away as much as possible from both places. What is more unfortunate is that no one has been arrested.”

With this, it is clear that the residences were thoroughly ransacked by the intruders, but it is not yet clear whether valuable documents of State interest were carted away by them.
