The Spanish giant in a statement released yesterday via its official verified Twitter page, congratulated the London based club, Chelsea for the job well done and commended Manchester City for its hard work that earned them two titles and also took them to the UCL final.
Chelsea’s hard work begins to pay off after they knocked out Real Madrid in the semi-final to book its place in the final, while Manchester City also climbed high ill, defeated Paris Saint Germain before it secured a place in the final.
A goal from Germany international, Kai Havertz in the 42nd minutes was enough to hand Chelsea their first Champions League title since 2012 and Barca has opted to celebrate with the new Champions of Europe.
They also recognised their former coach, Pep Guardiola and his team for their trophy filled season too, having won the English Premier League title and the League Cup.
