Rev. Kukah

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Hassan Kukah, has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for not being clear enough when he said that fuel subsidy is gone.

The outspoken Bishop went on to say that he has heard some persons claim that fuel subsidy in Nigeria is a scam, adding that if fuel subsidy is a scam, then he will like to see the names of those persons who has benefited from fuel subsidy over the years.

Bishop Kukah said that when corruption is being fought, it is important to make an example with those corrupt persons because if no example is made, then there will be trouble.

He was of the opinion that an example must be made out of the corrupt persons because the worst thing that can happen to any country is to allow a situation whereby corrupt persons recycle themselves in government, or end up sponsoring political actors who ends up doing heir bidding and not the wishes of the people.
