The suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, has allegedly been declared wanted on Monday by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over links with an international drug cartel.
Nigerian News Outlet, The Punch gathered that the Spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, Femi Babafemi, announced this during a short press briefing held at the agency’s Headquarters.
The anti-graft agency noted an investigation has revealed that Kyari is a member of a drug syndicate that operates internationally.
Moreover, subsequent reports suggested that the suspended police chief was involved in a 25kg cocaine deal and he’s, however, wanted by the anti graft agency.
This was later confirmed by the NDLEA via its official verified Twitter handle, @ndlea_nigeria, where the agency made the official announcement that the suspended DCP have been declared wanted over his involvement in a 25kg cocaine deal.

This is coming amidst the suspended police chief’s alleged controversial involvement with the Internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi.

According to a report released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the United States of America, Kyari had earlier indicated in the case of fraud involving the Instagram celebrity. He was subsequently suspended by the Nigerian Police.
Abba Kyari, before his suspension by the commission, was the head of Police intelligence of Response Team of the Inspector General of Police.
