Former Former Minister of Culture and Tourism of Nigeria and member of All Progressive Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Femi Fani-Kayode has slammed the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele over Naira redesign policy.
Fani-Kayode alleged Emefiele of weaponising the CBN to be an enemy of democracy, adding that the latter need to be ‘stopped and caged’.
The former minister said this on Wednesday in a statement released via his official verified Twitter handle.
In his tweet, Fani-Kayode argued that the policy of redesigning naira notes has to be totally cancelled until after the general election and done lawfully.
He further alleged the CBN governor of causing a crisis, provoking Nigerians, derailing the country’s democracy and paving the way for a serious fight across the country.
Fani-Kayode added that Godwin Emefiele has no plans to find solution to the scarcity of the new naira note, alleging that the CBN governor’s plan is to ‘STARVE the people of cash and drive them to rage out of frustration’. He added further:
“This is not about politics but about stoking up protest & revolution. This is subversion & destablisation. He must be stopped & caged!
