Kurt Okraku, Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, has talked down on the Nigerian Super Eagles players, calling them little babies who pretend to be big boys.
The GFA president said this in an interview with Joy Sports ahead of the momentous Ghana versus Nigeria World Cup qualifying playoffs, urging the Black Stars to stand up and be counted. In his words:
“It’s that time of the year where every Ghanaian will have to stand up and be counted. It’s that time of the year where our country’s pride is at stake.”

Okraku stressed that it is that time of the year when Ghana must be at the Mundial, but for that to be possible the country will have to deal with a common foe and that is the Super Eagles of Nigeria. He stressed further that the Nigerians are little babies but they are portraying themselves to be the big boys.
“It’s that time of the year where Ghana must be at the Mundial, but before we do that, we have a common foe, the Super Eagles of Nigeria. They come across as our little babies, but they pretend to be the big boys,” he added.

The GFA president’s statement came as a counterreaction to the earlier statement released by Nigeria’s Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, who said the Super Eagles of Nigeria “will beat the sh*t” out of Ghana.

Dare, while addressing the Super Eagles technical crew on Wednesday morning, said that Nigeria will not settle for a draw and, therefore, suggested that Nigeria will conveniently thrash their Ghana counterparts. He said:
“We’re not going to play a draw in Ghana, honestly. We’ll beat the shit out of them.”
“These guys should just go out, there’s insurance to their next match. There’s insurance there and there’s insurance here.”
Considering the past records, the Black Stars have a better head-to-head record over the Nigeria Super Eagles and have not lost to Nigeria in over 16 years.
