Guinness Book Of World Records (GWR), today took to social media to announce that it had chosen to award popular Nigerian Chef, Hilda Baci a world record title for the longest hours spent cooking after deducting seven hours from a total of hundred hours initially recorded.

In a video tweet posted on its verified Twitter handle on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, the organization explained that it chose to award Baci with the title after a total of 93 hours and 11 minutes were calculated by GWR officials, as against the initial hundred hours that was announced by her team.

Going further, the organization revealed that there was an error in calculating the total number of minutes allotted to Chef Baci to take short rests during her attempt to break the record. After reviewing the footage recorded during the contest, Baci was adjudged to have done 7 hours less than was initially announced.

As expected, the tweet from the GWR has generated quite a large number of reactions from a cross-section of Nigerians online, with many trooping to the comments section to share their thoughts.

While some people congratulated the Akwa Ibom-born Chef for the huge feat, others, applauded her for choosing to cook for a hundred hours thereby clinching the record with a whopping seven hours to spare.
