Elder statesman and former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife has warned against the recent attacks on Igbo people in Lagos during the last governorship election.
It would be recalled that the March 18th governorship election in Lagos state was marred by attacks and counter-attack from the Yoruba and Igbo resident in Lagos which led to multiple reports of voters suppression.
Some reports had it that some Igbos were told not to vote in Lagos while others got attacked in the process.
However, speaking during an exclusive interview with Vanguard Newspaper, Ezeife said it is quite disturbing for people to attack Igbos.
According to him, Igbo people are determined to protect themselves and could go violent if the attack against them continues.
Hear him “What frightens me is that if this thing goes further, the Igbo would show who they are, and it won’t be good for the country. Nobody can be more violent than the Igbo who is determined to defend themselves in the face of aggression.” Ezeife told Vanguard News during the exclusive interview.
