The Kogi State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Wakili Damina, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen wearing the military uniform, The Cable has reported.
Speaking about the incident, the Kogi MACBAN secretary, Adamu Abubakar, said their boss was kidnapped on April 30 by some armed men that dressed in army uniform.
He added that the abductors who came in a bus about 12 noon were up to eight in number and forcefully took away the chairman from his house in Chikara village, Kogi LGA.
The secretary said he was informed of the incident by their chairman’s younger brother.
Speaking further, Abubakar said when he was informed of the incident, he quickly called the chairman’s phone number, which rang out at the first call, but was later switched off when he repeated the call.
“Since then, his lines are not reachable and all efforts to know his whereabouts proved abortive,” he said.
Abubakar added that he immediately notified the state commissioner of police of the development, while the state government was also aware of the matter too.
The secretary said a search party raised by their group have made necessary efforts in search of their boss and had visited other places, including abattoirs in and around Abuja, but to no avail.
Kogi state commissioner of police, Ede Ayuba, while speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) about the incidents, said the police are yet to locate the Miyetti Allah chairman’s whereabouts.
He added that all efforts made to get detailed information about the incident from the divisional police officer in the area where the incident happened were unsuccessful as the matter was not officially reported to him.
