7-time Ballon D’or winner, Lionel Messi has written his name in the French Ligue 1 history book in a League match between Paris Saint Germain, PSG, and Clermont.
The PSG attacker, who had three assists in the club’s previous match against Saint-Etienne, repeated the same in their Saturday evening league match versus Clermont and this has made him the first player in the history of the league to have a hattrick of assists in two different games.
In a match against Saint Etienne which ended 3-1 in favour of PSG, the former Barcelona Captain had the first one while he bagged another in the club’s 6-1 victory over Clermont.
Messi who signed for PSG in the summer transfer window has been in amazing form in the league but failed to reproduce such an outstanding performance in the UEFA Champions League.
In the league so far this season, Messi has scored only 3 goals but provided a huge 14 assists in 20 matches.
