The Nigerian Police Command and Control has launched its Emergency Help Applications called “Rescue Me App”.
The Acting Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced this, on Saturday, in a tweet posted via his official Twitter handle, @Princemoye1.
The App which, according to the police PRO, was made for the good of every Nigerian citizen, has different features that will ensure adequate security for people where ever they are in the country.
In the App, there is an EMERGENCY ALERT button, where any form of any emergency problem can be reported and a REPORT CRIME button, where people will be able to report any criminal acts.
There is also a NAVIGATION feature that will be used to search and ascertain one’s location if lost.
In case of any form of police harassment, a REPORT POLICE feature was included in the App and the PRO ensure immediate action from the police authorities whenever one is reported.
The App also possesses a CONTACT ADD feature, where contact details of relatives or anyone to be reached out to, in case of emergency, at the tap of the button.

Lastly, there is a REQUEST AN AMBULANCE button, the feature is spot on in case of any medical emergency or seeing people in a medical emergency like a road accident or fire outbreak. A simple tap on the button will get an ambulance and a medical team dispatched to the location via web-based GPS tracking.
The Emergency Help Application (Rescue Me App) can be downloaded both on Android as well as IOS devices
The police PRO, however, implores people not to test strike a call on the App in order not to disturb the system because all the features are functioning and very effective. He also urged Nigerians not to evangelise the message.
