The governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has reacted to a viral video of some officials purportedly pushing a blue train in Marina, Lagos State, after it allegedly refused to work.
Gbadebo had wondered in his statement why the blue train on which a huge amount of taxpayer’s money were spent would just suddenly refuse to work.
In his statement, he said:, “Politiricks and tokenism.” Lagos State Government spent $1.2 billion of our resources on this rail project over 13 years yet see what’s been delivered. To my knowledge, no one used this service today, yesterday, or will use it tomorrow. “$1.2 billion for 13 kilometers is inexcusable.”
Questions have been raised on how just a few numbers of officials were able to push the train, and some people have demanded that explanations be given on why the train cannot move by itself without the help of people.
