Reno Omokri, a former aide Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has revealed what will become of the former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, if he joins New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) after he dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This is coming a few hours after the campaign posters of Peter Obi alongside former Kano Governor Rabiu Kwakwaso surfaced online.

There have been several reactions from Nigerians following Mr Obi’s resignation from the PDP after he was allegedly feared being embarrassed from the major opposition party’s presidential primary as they many people are speculating that the former Anambra state governor is likely to join the NNPP.

However, it’s still unclear if Peter Obi has officially joined NNPP, where Kwankwaso belongs.

Reacting to the speculation, Reno Omokri, in a post shared on the microblogging and social media platform, said Peter Obi will still not win the 2023 presidential election if he moves to NNPP and is given a Vice Presidential ticket to run with Kwankwaso as president ticket.

The former presidential aide disclosed that the only damage Peter Obi’s presence in the NNPP can do to the PDP is to prevent the party from winning, however, such a scenario may lead to All Progressives Congress Party, APC, automatic victory.

The tweet reads;

“If Peter Obi moves to NNPP and is given their vice presidential ticket to run with Kwankwaso as a Presidential ticket, they won’t win the 2023 Presidential election. However, they can prevent the PDP from winning. Such a scenario may lead to an automatic APC victory”
