The Sokoto State Governor, who chairs the People Democratic Party, PDP, Governors’ Forum, Aminu Tambuwal, and his colleagues have assured their party will return to power come 2023.
Tambuwal who has condemned Buhari’s system of governance on several occasions has assured their party will return to power at the federal level in 2023 with help of the PDP Governors’ Forum.
The Sokoto helmsman said this while speaking at a banquet organised by the Akwa Ibom government, ahead of the forum meeting in Uyo.
Tambuwal stated that the governors and party leaders were determined to rescue Nigeria and assured that he and his colleagues would not disappoint the people of the country.
In his words:
“God on our side, we are determined as leaders, to provide that platform for the emergence of another PDP leadership in 2023.”
Tambuwal urged all citizens to continue to pray for the country to overcome the increasing security challenges.
Also speaking at the banquet, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom noted that the people did not make mistakes when they elected PDP governors.
Emmanuel Enoidem, PDP National Legal Adviser said the National Working Committee (NWC) was proud of the PDP governors.
He stressed:
“If there is any hope of democracy in Nigeria, it has come from the PDP governors because of their excellent performance in their states.”
Other governors in attendance apart from Emmanuel and Tambuwal, were governors of Adamawa, Delta, Enugu, Rivers, Taraba, Bayelsa, Edo and the deputy governor of Zamafara State.
