Policing, in the real sense of it, is a thing of joy, as it encompasses the activities carried out by organized institution in order to maintain law and order and provide safety and security for a certain society. The police are often the key security and justice institution that citizens interact with; it is the main point of entry into the criminal justice system, and remains the State agency primarily responsible for upholding the rule of law, protecting and promoting human rights, and maintaining public order. When you look around the developed and organized nations, police over there are honourable, professional and full of dignity.
As the saying goes: “Law enforcement and luxury are the two words that rarely come together.” But when we talk about Dubai Police, we cannot but say the two words aptly describe the impressive fleet of cars that the police in Dubai use in their operations. From the famed Bugatti Veyron to the swanky Ferrari FF or Lamborghini Aventador, the Dubai Police can certainly boast of them all. Luxury supercars for the Dubai police force sound too impressive and good to be true.
The question now is, can we say of the same with the Nigerian Police? Without beating about the bush, the answer is hell no.
