Trump Applauds Nigerian Government Over Twitter Ban, Implores Other Countries To Do The Same.

Former American President, Donald Trump, has commended the Nigerian Government over Twitter, imploring more countries to follow suit.

Trump said this in a statement released on Tuesday.

The Federal Government of Nigeria laid a ban on the microblogging and social media platform, Twitter last Friday after it deleted a war threatening comment made by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This, however, drawn several reactions from people, with some, condemning the government’s recent action but in Trump’s view, the new development is good and worthy of applauding.

In his statement, Trump congratulated Nigeria for the ban and urges to also ban Twitter and Facebook for not allowing free and open speech.

Trump stressed that, in the meantime, better platforms that offer the same services they are offering will emerge and take hold. He added:

“Who are they to dictate good and evil if they themselves are evil?”

Trump revealed he should have sanctioned the two social media as well when he was the President, but the Facebook CEO, Zuckerberg, keep imploring him not to do so.

In his words:

“Perhaps I should have done it when I was president, But Zuckerberg kept calling me and coming to the White House for dinner telling me how great I was. 2024?’

Facebook recently upheld Trump’s ban on that platform, and the blog page he was recently using to post his statements have also been deleted.
