Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has reportedly accepted President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial nomination and he is preparing for next week’s ministerial screening.
Wike, who once stated in a viral video a few months ago that he was not going to become a minister under President Tinubu’s administration even though he worked for the party during the Presidential election, has now reported to have accepted the ministerial nomination and getting ready to be screened by the senate next week.
In the trending video, Wike said, “Only one person can be a minister from a state; I will not be a minister. I will not. I am not a liability; Rivers State is an asset. “So if you don’t want to win an election, it’s your business. I’m not the one running the election. “He who wears the shoes knows where it pinches him”.
Meanwhile, some top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) want the former Rivers Governor expelled immediately from the party if he goes for the screening next week.
It remains to be seen how the whole political games play out in the coming weeks!
