It was nearly a dream come true for Chelsea in 62 minutes when Marcos Alonso scored number the third goal for The Blues but was ruled out after VAR noticed the ball has touched the Spaniard in his hand before he fired it inside the net.

German striker, Timo Werner, makes it three in the 75th minute of the game and made it look as if the London club has booked their place in the semi-finals, but a super-sub by the Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, Rodrygo struck one back, in the 80th minute, from an assist provided by One-time Ballon d’Or winner, Luca Modric and dragged the game into the extra time.

Real Madrid’s qualification to the semifinals would later seal in the 96th minute with a fantastic header by French striker, Karim Benzema, who converted a perfect cross from Vinicius Junior, resulting from a counter-attack by the Spanish team.
