The Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the President Muhammadu Buhari, Mallam Garba Shehu, has welcomed Nigerians back on Twitter.
Garba Shehu welcomes Nigerian people, most especially the youths back to the microblogging and social media platform after its operation was suspended in the country 8-Month ago.
Recall that the Nigerian Government through a statement issued by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alh Lai Mohammed suspended the Twitter operation on 5th June 2021.
However, the Federal Government announced the lifting of the suspension on 13th January 2022, following a memo sent to the President by Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, where he updates and requests the President’s approval for the lifting based on the Technical Committee Nigeria-Twitter Engagement’s recommendation.
Garba Shehu in his tweet welcomes back Nigerians to the social media platform and commend them for being with the government while resolving the issues that occurred between Nigeria and Twitter.

Let me join fellow countrymen and women in welcoming the resolution of the impasse between the Federal Government of Nigeria and Twitter Inc., leading to the laying of a “foundation for a mutually beneficial future with endless possibilities.”
“I join the leaders of government in appreciating all Nigerians, “especially the vibrant Nigerian youths who have borne with the long wait to resolve this impasse,” and as the government statement clearly says, the gains made from this shared national sacrifice are immeasurable.”

Also welcoming Nigerians back on the microblogging and social media platform, the former Minister of Culture and Tourism, Femi Fani-Kayode who recently decamped from the PDP to the ruling APC, took to his official Twitter handle to post a welcome back message.
