Kidnapper Reports Himself and Gang to Police After Given Just N200K Out of Over N12 Million Collected As Ransom

A member of Kidnapping syndicate, Sadu Ardo Bunkawu, has reportedly disagreed with his gang and rejected a share of N200,000 being given to him out of a ransom of N12 million collected by them.

Bunkawu reported the matter to the police for justice to be done, describing the act from the members of his criminal gang as a “high level of injustice.”

SaharaReporters gathered that the aggrieved member of the kidnapping gang lamented being conspired against by 6 other members who gave him the sum of N200, 000 only out of the huge 12 million Naira they’ve collected as ransom.

Bunkawu who hails from Filingo village, Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa state stated that after they kidnapped two people from their community, Umaru Diffiwa and Umaru Babidi, 12 million Naira was paid to them as ransom before they released them.

The 28-year-old stressed that he regretted being part of the operation which he described as a “bad outing” because when he was returning back home the N200, 000 he collected, got lost.

In his words:

“I lost my share of the money while rushing to reach home on time.”

Bunkawu stressed further that the ransom of N12m was paid to seven of them by victims’ families and he was called upon and given only N200, 000 after they have released them.

The 28-year-old has reportedly been arraigned before Chief Magistrate Court I, sitting in Yola, by Inspector Rakat Kadams, for alleged criminal conspiracy and kidnapping, which is contrary to sections 60 and 248(a) of the state penal code law 2018.
