The coast seems clear for the dancing Senator, Ademola Adeleke, as his rival and brother, Dele Adeleke, has reportedly stepped down for him in the forthcoming PDP governorship primary election.
Ademola Adeleke’s brother, Dele Adeleke, who is also a strong contender in the forthcoming governorship primary, disclosed that he has stepped down for his brother in a statement made available to journalists on Monday.
In his statement, Dele Adeleke said, “My journey in the past few months was one of conviction, conviction rooted in my strong belief that Osun deserves to get a more visionary and positively impactful leadership, headed by a young, virile and result-oriented person. My conviction was also rooted in the knowledge of my capacity to be this man who would lead Osun in the direction of growth and prosperity that it surely needs.”
Dele noted that he is ready to work tooth and nail for the PDP to triumph in the forthcoming Osun gubernatorial election so as to allow his party, PDP, take over mantle of leadership from the unperforming APC Administration.
Dele Adeleke stated further that he has succeeded in selling his vision, plans and programmes for the people of Osun state, and that the people of the state know he has a selfless ambition to take the state out of its present predicaments in the hands of the incompetent APC Administration. Nonetheless, he decided to toe the path of the party’s leadership, who in their wisdom thought that all hands must be on deck and that all forces must align to present a united front going into the primaries.
Talking further, Dele said, “The leaders in their wisdom decided to harmonize our forces, within the school of thought that I subscribed to, so that we can jointly prosecute the primary election and win. I respect this decision and believe in their capacity to lead us to victory”
He said that it is in the light of the above that he has informed his coordinators and supporters to take the very difficult decision of withdrawing from the PDP gubernatorial race, in total submission to the will of respected leaders and the supremacy of the party.
Dele Adeleke concluded that he remains committed to the task of liberating Osun State from the claws of poor leadership, and that he will continue to provide the necessary support for the actualization of the good leadership that aligns with his type of vision for the state.
