How Sunday Igboho Flees, Escaped DSS Arrest During The Attack On His Residence.

People have been sent in disarray as all and sundry wondering how on earth the Yoruba Traditionalist and activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, was able to escape arrest during the Department of Security Services (DSS), attack on his residence located at Soka area of Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.

Reports have it that the DSS, are responsible for the attack, as they have claimed and announced publicly how the operation is being executed and the offence he committed before they decided to launch the attack.

Hotnewsinnaija.com gathered that DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya, in a statement released on Thursday, narrated how the security agency launched the attack, the problem the DSS team faced during the operation and how the Igboho was able to escape arrest.

Peter Afunanya disclosed that its agency launched the attack to raid Sunday Igboho’s house because they learnt the Yoruba youth leader “had stockpiled arms in the place”, which would be using to empower his followers to undermine the government directives.

He revealed that when the DSS team approached Igboho’s residence, nine armed men suspected to be his guard fired attacks on the men of the security agency, adding that Six of those men were armed with AK-47 guns, while the remaining three were with pump-action rifles.

Afunanya now disclosed how Igboho was able to flee and escaped the security agency’s arrest, noting that the gun confrontation between the DSS team and the latter’s armed men which lasted for an hour was the reason why he had the chance to run away.

The DSS spokesman further disclosed that the security agency overpowered Igboho’s armed men and recovered exhibits, including seven AK-47 rifles and thousands of ammunition from his house.

Afunanya also confirmed that during the gun duel between the agency and Igboho’s guards at his house, the DSS team killed two people, injured one and was taken to the hospital for treatment, while the rest was subdued and arrested.

It was gathered that aside from the arms and ammunition recovered by the security agency, charms, foreign currency notes, laptops, among other items were also recovered.

The Yoruba activist had planned to hold a rally in Lagos on Saturday to further create awareness about his secessionist objectives, but the rally was suspended after he was able to escape from being arrested by the men of the security agency during the attack on his house.

DSS however, advised Sunday Igboho to surrender himself to the nearest security agency, urging those that are in support of him to implore him to hand himself over to the appropriate authorities.
