It was all funfare as the former Senior Technical Adviser to the former Osun state governor, Dr. Olugbile Michael, DMO, obtained his expression of interest form for the Federal House of Representatives, Boripe/Odo-otin/Ifelodun Federal Constituency on Thursday.
DMO, a Havard trained World Bank Expert obtained the form at the Odo-Otin APC’s local government secretariat in the company of his friends and teeming supporters, who thronged the secretariat to give him the necessary solidarity.
Shortly after obtaining the form, Dr Olugbile Michael was treated to rapturous cheers from his teeming supporters who were already waiting for him at the Odo-Otin Local government APC’s party secretariat.
The World Bank Expert expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God and sincere appreciation to his friends, colleagues and family members who have donated generously to his campaign and are instrumental to the collection of his nomination and expression of interest forms for the House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that the form collection is an important leap towards securing the House of Reps ticket of the All Progressive Congress which will afford him the opportunity to represent the good people of Odo-Otin/Ifelodun/Boripe Federal Constituency.
Speaking further, the 2019 House of Representative aspirant exudes much confidence that, with God on his side, he will emerge the candidate of the party and eventually win the general election come February 25, 2023.
Olugbile reiterated that he is ready to coast home to victory this time around with the unflinching support of the people of his constituency, and promising to use his vast experience in politics to provide the right kind of representation to the people of Boripe/Ifelodun and Odo-otin, if and when elected.
Although he has no biceps nor six packs, DMO is in the race with an intimidating credentials that posit him as the best of all of the aspirants jostling to represent Boripe/Ifelodun/Odo-Otin constituency. He is a technocrat with vast political experienced that began since his days as a Senior Technical Adviser to Osun State governor. Olugbile is well educated – a Harvard trained world Bank development expert with the heart of gold. He is an epitome of good leadership and has deep passion for the help of the poor.
As a private citizen, DMO helped pay for JAMB examination fees of a total of about 400 students between 2021 and 2022 in his Federal Constituency of Odo-Otin, Ifelodun and Boripe Local government. He also gave full scale scholarships to around 176 secondary school students, and paid for WAEC registration fees of another 23, not to talk of about 120 students of different higher institutions he gives yearly bursaries to. As if that is not enough, he employed 11 teachers, on his personal payroll, into eight different government secondary schools across Odo-Otin Local Government Area to cover for shortage of teachers in vital and compulsory subjects.
In his address to hundreds of his supporters and constituents who witnessed the collection of his form on Thursday, DMO assured them of proper and best representation at the Federal House of Representatives, while also vowing that the interests of his Constituency will be well protected at the floor of the House. Morever, he gave them the assurance that the integrity of the constituency will be flown very high, if, by the special grace of the Almighty, he becomes a member of the Federal house of Representatives.
The former Senior Technical Adviser also pledges to sponsor bills that will priotize and advocate for adequate child education, and also those that would provoke human capacity development of his Constituency and Nigeria at large.
He stated further that the hallmark of his service to his Constituency will centre around rural empowerment of poor men and women with small scale and large scale enterprises through collaboration with the Sustainable Development Goals, SDG, among several other impactful legislations.
Those present at the gathering were delighted to be attributed to the man of substance, even as they hailed him as a virtous man with impressive pedigree and good family background.
With this, it is now a known fact that DMO is not here for a joke; He is out for a serious business of impactful legislations for his constituency and Nigeria at large. With DMO, we can be sure that we will be well represented.
