A lady who visited her boyfriend in Lagos from Port Harcourt has reportedly become dumb after spending only one night with the lover she met on Facebook.
Vanguard News gathered that the people of Iyana-Isashi community area of Lagos were thrown into confusion after they witnessed the unfortunate incident.
According to reports, the Benue born lady who resides in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and her Lagos lover were met on Facebook where they talked and agreed to be dating each other.
It was gathered that the whole drama started early in the morning when the lady woke up, took a sachet of water and went outside to brush her teeth. She, thereafter, noticed she has gone dumb all of a sudden.
Narrating the incident to the newsmen, the suspect said:
“I met the victim on social media, and we became friends and then started dating.
“Last week, she came from Port Harcourt to Lagos to visit me. We spent time together everything was okay until the next morning when she woke up and decided to brush her teeth.”
“She took a sachet of water from the bag of ‘pure water’ inside the house.
“She stepped outside and by the time she finished brushing her teeth, she noticed she could no longer talk.
The suspect disclosed that the scenario was just like magic to him because the lady spoke to him when she woke up in the morning, only to find out she has gone dumb after she took water and went outside to brush her teeth.
HotNewsInNaija gathered that the Police from the Iyana-Isashi Division were invited to arrest the suspect, after all the efforts to assist the victim recover her speech were unsuccessful.
Speaking about the suspect’s arrest, Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspect was arrested by police operatives but was later released after the victim’s parent came to the station and revealed what happened to the victim is a reoccurring spiritual attack afflicting her.
Hundeyin stressed that her parents insisted on taking the victim to their home town in Benue State to find spiritual remedy to the issue. He added:
“After verifiable evidence that they are her parents, the victim was released to them.”
