Peter Obi Speaks On Alleged Theft of his Phone at Tribunal | Read

Peter Gregory Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 general election, has finally spoken on the alleged theft of his phone at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Tuesday.

HotNewsinNaija reports that a video of Obi complaining about his missing phone at the court in Abuja went viral on social media.

Reacting through his spokesman, Valentine Obienyem, Peter Obi clarified that the phone was not stolen but was kept by one of his aides.

Obienyem explained that the former Governor of Anambra State left his phone on the table to exchange pleasantries with some people in court, and one of his aides picked it up for safekeeping.

He added that the phone was not stolen and that Obi appreciates the concern of his supporters.

He said, “Yesterday, the news of the loss of Mr. Peter Obi’s phone went viral. The spontaneous outpouring of solidarity was yet again a demonstration of the love of the people for him.

“May I happily inform you that it was not a case of theft. He left the phones on his table to exchange pleasantries with some people in court, whereupon, for safety sake, one of his aides picked the phones

“Once again, we appreciate your concern.

The Presidential Election Petition Court is hearing a case filed by Obi challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu.
