Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army affairs, Senator Ali Ndume has alleged that Nigeria’s President-elect, Bola Tinubu has been unfairly crucified because of his faith as a Muslim.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Senator Ali Ndume stated that it’s preposterous for anyone to think the Tinubu will hate the Christians just because he opted for a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
He pointed out that the President-elect would have a crisis in his home if he decides not to like the Christians. According to him, this is because Tinubu’s wife is a Pastor and his children are Christians. He earmarked that the Bola Tinubu who ruled Lagos state brought in the Igbos and Christians into the affairs of his state.
Ndume stated categorically that no man shouldn’t be castigated because of his faith because it’s a private subject between man and God.
He said, ‘Immediately Tinubu take over, he should be the Bola Tinubu that I know. The man married to a Christian and when he was in government, he had Christians, Muslims, and Igbos in his cabinet. That means he can be able to carry Nigerians along. I think he has already naturally started that. He has a wife who’s not ordinarily a Christian but he’s a Pastor.
So will you say Tinubu will not be fair to Christians, he will have problems right from his bedroom if he does not like Christians. For me, the problem is solved. How can you say just because Tinubu is a Muslim he is the worst? It’s a personal something, supposing Tinubu decides to be a Christian tomorrow. Everybody will shut up, and that is the truth.”
