Court Makes First Ruling on Nnamdi Kanu, Remands Him in SSS Custody Till July 26
The Federal High Court in Abuja has made the first ruling after the arrest and retrial of the runaway leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, by granting a request by the Department of State Services (DSS) to remand him under their custody till July 26 when the hearing will resume.
Justice Binta Nyako, the presiding judge of the court granted the order in Abuja on Tuesday morning when Kanu was re-arraigned on charges bothering on terrorism and treason.
Although, Kanu appeared in court without his lawyers, the judge granted the prayer of the DSS and directed that Kanu should be held under the DSS custody until his hearing resumes on July 26.

Recall that Nnamdi Kanu was re-arrested on Sunday, several months after jumping bail granted to him by the same court and judge, and ran out of the country. This made the judge to revoke his bail and order his immediate arrest. He was, however, re-arrested on Sunday and re-arrainged in the court on Tuesday.
