Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state have been thrown into confusion as the major opposition party holds parallel governorship primaries in two different locations in Osun state capital, Osogbo, on Tuesday.

The PDP is billed to unveil its candidate who would run against the incumbent governor from the APC, Gboyega Otetola, in the next governorship election in the state.

However, the opposition party does not seem to get things right as it presently holding a parallel governorship primary election in Osogbo. While Adeleke’s faction is holding its primary at Osun Township Stadium, Dotun Babayemi’s camp has set up tents at WOCDIF Event Centre

With the look of things, Ademola Adeleke may likely emerge the winner of the governorship primary holding at the Osogbo stadium complex, while Prince Dotun Babayemi may emerge as the PDP candidate from the primary holding at WOCDIF event centre.

Just like Demola Adeleke, Dotun Babayemi is also a strong contender for the PDP Governorship primary. In fact, there are report that he has been endorsed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Elders’ Caucus led by Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun as the party’s governorship candidate.

In a statement released by the Elders’ Caucus, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun said, “On behalf of Osun State PDP executives, BoT members, apex party leaders and the entire members of our party in the state, after a painstaking deliberation of the elders of the party, and in preparation for the state congress to elect the governorship candidate of our party slated to hold on March 8, it was unanimously agreed that Prince Babayemi should fly the party’s flag in the impending state congress.”
“This decision is with the full backing and concurrence of other aspirants in attendance, who are also eminently qualified to occupy the exalted position.”

However, Ademola Adeleke, porpularly known as Dancing Senator, does no seem to go by the decision of the Elders’ Caucus. He declared that he is still in the race. And as it stands today, two separate PDP governorship primaries are ongoing, throwing concerned party members into frenzy.
