Bashir Ahmad, former aide to Ex-president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari rtd. has drawn the ire of many Nigerians on social media after he hinted FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike on what to do in some areas in Abuja.

The Digital Communications Assistant to the former Nigerian President between the years 2015 to 2023 on Saturday took to his official X account (formerly Twitter) to highlight some areas in the Federal Capital Territory that he described to be dark and need to be illuminated to curb ravaging insecurity and kidnapping occurring in City.

In his post, Bashir Ahmad wrote:

“Dear @GovWike, Abuja is too dark, some spots in this city are naturally dangerous to be at night. The absence of adequate lighting on the streets of prominent districts such as Wuse, Maitama, Asokoro, Garki, and the Central Business District, etc is a matter that requires immediate action, Sir”

However, many irate Nigerians trooped to the comment section of his tweet to drag and asked if the Young man who was part of the immediate past administration was not there to advise his boss on what to do to those areas during their 8 years in office.

“Bashir, you are becoming a noise and it will be better you thread carefully. You left Aso Rock 7 months ago, where you were so silent on areas where the government could not maintain control. I’m quite certain that the immediate past minister for FCT served for 8 years without you making comments like this. Are you suggesting that this darkness only surfaced within this short period of time? If former aides to the president were to be vocal and become sudden activist, it shouldn’t be you, who only prioritizes your functions into Arewa, Islam, and Real Madrid.”

“While your point is valid, Abuja is just as dark as it has been under the eight years of Buhari. Who shut your mouth from giving the same advice between 2015 to 2023?

Wawu!!! You didn’t notice this throughout the 8 years that you worked in the Villa while we had the most useless FCT minister in the history of this country? Wow!!!

As you don vacate villa your eyes don dey see road now abi😏

It’s been like this since Buhari’s time. In fact, more improvements in FCT are witnessed under Wike than the preceding minister

Was your mouth tied while you were in government?

Were you not in the same Abuja for 8 years? Oh sorry you were in the villa and drove in tinted vehicles .

Did you have the gut to tell Musa Mohammed Bello, the former FCT Minister same thing you are telling Wike?

Pẹlẹ o emergency observer.
