Veteran Nigerian singer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has commended the youths for the ongoing peaceful protest in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Since the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the winner of the February 25, election, a pocket of youths have continued to express their grievances over the outcome of the election.
Some of these Nigerian youths on daily basis stormed the streets of Abuja and the INEC office demanding a return of their mandate, claiming that the electoral umpire did not follow its guidelines for the election.
In a post via Instagram, Charly Boy commended the peaceful protest, saying his health challenge has not allowed him to join the youths.
The entertainer promised to join the protesters next week which he described as the ‘mother of all rallies’ in Abuja.
He wrote: “Courageous Youths, I appreciate you all for the peaceful way you’ve conducted yourselves in the Abuja ongoing rally so far.
“But for my medical challenge I would have been with you all.
“However, am recovering quickly and hopefully by next week I should be joining you all for the mother of all rallies.
“They will never mess with our mandate. Der fathers”
