The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has reportedly given a marching order to the Police and other security agencies to start hunting for the criminals responsible for the crisis happening in Abeokuta, the state capital city.
Abiodun announced this in a statement released on Friday via his official Facebook page, condemning the dastardly acts of the cults and calling on the relevant security operatives to deal with anyone found culpable without mercy.
The governor said that information reaching him on the level of unrest in some parts of the State capital is disturbing, and has now assured the people of Ogun state of their safety.
He noted that, based on the information sent to him, the crisis was caused by some cultists, and he has ordered security operatives to swing into quick actions to make sure that normalcy is returned to the affected areas.

Abiodun stressed further that the state government will make sure that those behind the unfortunate crisis be brought to book, and thus urging all parents and guardians to call their children and wards to order before the long hands of the law catches up with them, as there won’t be an atom of mercy for any culprits nabbed by the security operatives in connection with the crisis.
The statement reads:
“My attention has been drawn to the unrest going on in some parts of Abeokuta. Information available to me says these dastardly acts are being perpetrated by some criminals tagged cultists.”
“I have made it clear that we will deal decisively with anyone found wanting in this regard.”
“To this extent, I have given the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command and other security agencies a marching order to go after those criminals responsible for this crisis and restore total peace.”
“Parents and guardians are also advised to warn their children an wards, as there will be no room for any form of plea for anybody culpable for these despicable and condemnable acts.”
