The Nigerian Police Force through its Acting Public Relations Officer (PRO), Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has alleged Nigerians of toying with the newly launched Police “Rescue Me App”, urging the people of the country to download the app because they need it more than any police or security agents.

Prince Olumuyiwa said this in a statement released via a series of tweets posted on his official Twitter handle, @Princemoye1.

The Police PRO, shortly after he announced the launching of the App, was bombarded with loads of questions that he found difficult to attend to due to its number. He implored people to download the App before they’ll start asking questions.

Olumuyiwa stressed that the Police authorities have tried their best in taking policing closer to the people of the country using technology but it won’t be of any good if Nigerians started attacking or condemning the initiative.

He, however, begged those who does not believe the initiative to keep it to themselves in order not to discourage others.

The PRO said the app is made to help in providing adequate security to Nigerians and to ease their access to security operatives when in distress. Prince Moye added that he believed Nigerians need the app more than he, any police officer or security agents do, but many of them have decided to be toying with it.

“All i know is that you need the app more than i do or any police or security agents. It is designed to help Nigerians in distress as i tweet here, many are toying with it and its affecting our system. Can we please trust anything they release to help us, for once,” he said.
