The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressive Congress has slammed the governorship candidate of Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour over his condemnation of the process that led to the victory of Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the Saturday’s governorship election.
Rhodes-Vivour in a thread of tweet on his verified twitter handle on Sunday said he would not congralute the governor on his re-election for second term, describing the process as fraudulent and his victory unconvincing.
He wrote: “In light of this, I am convinced beyond any doubt that the results being released by INEC do not represent the wishes of the majority of peaceful Lagosians.
“More so the results from our field agents and situation room indicated that we won this election.”

Reacting to his tweet, the state chapter of the APC asked the labour party candidate to calm down and learn the rudiments of partisan politics.
The reaction was made by the Party’s Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo in a phone conversation with Punch Correspondent on Monday.
According to the statement: “Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour is seeking to lead a people he could not speak their language.”
Oladejo noted that the LP candidate’s overzealousness and exuberance could not be sustained in the face of reality.
He said: “He actually sought to lead a people he couldn’t identify with, couldn’t speak a word of their language and only hoped to cash in on the momentum of youth restiveness.”
“Chinedu needs to wake up to the reality of the fact that the elections are already over and the results have been announced. What we have left are mere rhetorics and academic exercises.”
