Yeni Kuti, the eldest daughter of the Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti, has debunked the recently circulated news that her younger brother, Seun Kuti disrespected the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu at her 60th birthday party.
Yeni has explained what transpired and the reasons why his brother decided to stay far away from where the governor was, noting that her brother has home training and cannot disrespect an elderly person.
Recall that, Hip Tv in a video report posted on its social media shown how Seun Kuti walked out on the governor and the video has captured people’s attention that it became a trend on microblogging and social media platform, Twitter.
Reacting to this, Yeni took his Twitter page @YeniAKuti, to release a statement, revealing what happened and why her brother walked away.
In his tweet, Yeni stated that what happened was that governor Sanwo-Olu’s security aides in the course of performing their duty pushed Seun Kuti’s wife, and he, however, got upset with them and not the governor.

Stressing further, she noted that even, governor Sanwo-Olu was aware of the matter, as Seun has personally explained to him. She, therefore, beg people to stop broadcasting fake news, noting that her brother has home training and can never disrespect an elderly person.
What happened was that the security detail in the course of doing their duty pushed his wife. He got upset at them understandably so, not the Governor. He even explained to the governor. I beg o! He has home training. @RealSeunKuti
