Obong Victor Attah, a Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has recalled that the former minister of finance and the DG World Trade Organisation, WTO, Dr Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, once told Nigerians that the cabal who are in this fuel subsidy scam were responsible for the kidnap of her mother some years back.

He stressed that since then, every government has made an attempt to remove the fuel subsidy, but at the last minute they will withdraw, either because they were threatened or because of some other reasons.

Ex Governor Victor Attah made this disclosure when he was interviewed on Arise Television, as he was discussing about the meeting the class of the 1999 governors had with President Tinubu some days back.

He said: “This particular decision has suffered a lot postponement, you remember a story by own revered minister, Ngozi Iweala who said that the cabal that are in this fuel scam of subsidy were the one that kidnapped her mother and every government since then has made attempt to remove it, at the last minute they would withdraw. Either because they were threatened or they have reason to withdraw.”

Furthermore, he noted that for Tinubu to come in and know that removal of fuel subsidy is needed and went ahead to remove it is enough reason for him to be commended. He went on and made it known that he thinks that Tinubu’s decision to remove the fuel subsidy is a good one, thereby urging Nigerians to support him.
