The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has alleged that markets in Lagos State have been closed as traders were forced by the State governor to attend the APC rally taken place today in Lagos State.
The PDP governorship candidate made the allegations on Twitter ahead of the APC presidential and gubernatorial rally which is to be held in Lagos State today in honour of his opponent, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking ahead of the rally, Jandor claimed that the APC government in Lagos State headed by Governor Sanwo-Olu has mandated the traders to all be present at the APC presidential rally for Bola Ahmed Tinubu which is happening today.
According to him, he received reports that the traders are being threatened with violence by APC sponsored thugs if they refuse to show up at the rally.
He wrote on his Twitter handle, “Today, markets across Lagos have been forced to close with all Traders mandated by Governor Sanwoolu government, to attend the APC presidential rally for Bola Tinubu happening today.”
“I have received reports that traders have been threatened with retributive violence from APC sponsored thugs if they refuse to comply. This kind of wanton abuse of power is synonymous with the APC’s leadership in Lagos and symbolic of the corruption that plagues our state.”
He went on to state that it is criminal to deny citizens their rights to engage in their businesses and against the rule of law to force them to take part in political rallies.
