Rahmon Adedoyin, the owner of Hilton Hotels, has been pronounced guilty by Justice Oyebola Ojo, the Chief Judge of Osun State, in the murder case of Timothy Adegoke, a Master’s student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Justice Ojo emphasised that the presented circumstantial evidence overwhelmingly pointed to Adedoyin as the perpetrator behind Adegoke’s tragic demise.

Chief Judge Adepele Ojo delivering his verdict on Tuesday, sentenced Adedoyin to death by hanging.

Chief Judge Ojo emphasised that Adedoyin’s decision to abstain from the witness stand worked against him, as the weight of the circumstantial evidence had shifted the burden of proof onto his shoulders.
However, the four staff members who were prosecuted alongside Adedoyin were acquitted and discharged from the charges levelled against them.

It can be recalled that Timothy Adegoke met a mysterious death at Hilton Hotels, Ile-Ife, in 2021.

Dr. Adedoyin, along with six of his employees—Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem, Adebayo Kunle, and Adedeji Adesola—were on trial for multiple offences, including conspiracy, murder, felony, indecent interference with a corpse, alteration and cancellation of receipts, and obstruction of justice.
