Brig. Gen. Abimbola Yussuph, a Nigerian Army General, has disclosed troops needs prayer to win the war against Boko Haram insurgency, banditry and other security challenges the country is battling.

The general on Sunday demanded serious prayers for the troops to win the war against the Boko Haram insurgency, banditry and other criminalities.

Speaking to the Journalist during the third anniversary of the Temple of Mercy Prophetic Ministry in Abuja, Abimbola noted that the war against insurgency had reached a stage where some level of spirituality should be involved.

He stressed that even at war, there used to be some level of spiritual component because the man fighting this war has a belief and whatever he believes, there should be an encouragement for him so that he can continue to fight.

He said:

“So, I’ll say we need that spiritual component to keep fighting and I know, by God’s mercy, we’ll see an end to this war because, for every war, there must be a time people will come to the round table.”

Also speaking at the anniversary, the presiding pastor, Akin Akinnigbagbe, urged Nigerian leaders to have the fear of God while running the affairs of the country.
