Video: Kanu Nwankwo Sheds Light On Why He, Other Super Eagles Legends Visited Tinubu

Nigerian Football Legend, Kanu Nwankwo, has explained why he, alongside some other Nigerian ex-international Footballers visited Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kanu who is regarded as one of the most decorated Nigerian footballers has taken to his official verified Twitter handle to debunked the fake news people have been spreading concerning their visit to the presidential aspirant at his residence in Lagos.

Recall that Kanu, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, Victor Ikpeba, Taribo West, Obafemi Akinwumi Martins and Others, Yesterday visited Tinubu over a novelty match organised to celebrate the former Lagos State Governor who is turning 70 Years by ending of this month.

This, however, led to outrage on social media as many Nigerians alleged those Super Eagles legends who visited the APC presidential front liner of endorsing him to become Nigerian President come 2023.

Speaking about the outrage, Kanu Nwankwo debunked the news which suggested they went there to endorse Tinubu and explained that they only went there to celebrate him because he had once supported him in keeping his Kanu Nwankwo Foundation that has now saved many people from being killed by heart ailments, up and running.

He stressed that such a person deserves to be celebrated now that he’s clocking 70 years of age.

Kanu, however, urged Nigerian people to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) and vote for anybody who they prefer and think will perform better come 2023.

He added that he’s not a politician and he does not have any attachment with any political party because he’s a footballer and legend and he’s proud to be one.
