The Lagos state’s Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, was today granted an interview by Daddy Freeze where he spoke about his political ambition.
According to him, “some people are already calling me ‘your excellency’ or ‘the incoming governor’ while others simply call me ‘gbadebo’.” He added, “I am cool with anyone I am addressed as.”
Speaking further, the Labour Party governorship candidate said, “I think many people have high hopes about the election. The level of expectations is also very high.”
Talking about his occupation, he said, “I am an architect by profession and I have worked with companies in America, China and England.”
On why he joined politics, Mr Gbadebo said, “my journey into politics was borne out of activism. In 2016, I led a 2000 man match to the Senate. The senator that came out to address us lacked empathy. As a result of what he said, I decided to join politics. That was why I ran for the seat of the local government chairman.”
Lastly, he said, “I started politics with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). I had the most opposition votes in the state when I contested. I am also passionate about youths involvement in politics and what I have done so far is to demystify the process so that more people, youths especially, will get involved.”
