The Chairman of Nigerians In Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has reacted to the current situation facing the Nigerians who were evacuated from Sudan but got stopped in the Sahara desert.
A video has gone viral showing angry evacuees lamenting how the buses carrying them from the crisis ridden country stopped after getting to the spot and refused to proceed with the journey.
They claimed that the buses’ drivers refused to go further because they have not been paid by the Federal Government despite the claim that they were paid a sum of 1.2million dollars.
According to the video, the evacuees said they were in the middle of Sahara desert with no food, no water to drink, no shelter and had no money.
Reacting to the viral video, Abike Dabiri-Erewa said she has spoken with the driver and he confirmed the journey has continued.
She stated this on her verified twitter handle.
She wrote: ” have just spoken to @nemanigeria dg. He confirmed the buses have continued their Journey and said whatever issues have been resolved”
