The Catalonia giant, Barcelona Football Club, is edging closer to Laliga Santander title after its two arch rivals, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid suffered setback.
Recall that in Week 33 of the Laliga Santander matches, Real Madrid were held to 0-0 draw by Real Betis at the Estadio Benito Villamarin while Diego Simeone’s side suffered a shock 2-1 defeat in the hands of the Atletic Club at the San Mamés stadium.
The Catalans who have a game at hand were initially behind Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid with two and five points respectively, but a goalless draw and a defeat suffered by the two spanish giants, respectively, in their week 33 match has now seen Barca leveled point with Los Blancos and falls only two points behind Rojablancos.
As it stands now, Altetico Madrid is on top of Laliga standing with 73 point; while Real Madrid and Barcelona are in the second and third position respectively with 71 points apiece.
However, a victory for the FC Barcelona in their outstanding match will project them to one point clear ahead of Atletico Madrid on top of the league standing.
