DSS Arrests BRT Driver, Two Others Who Allegedly Kidnapped, Killed Bamise.

The Department of State Security Services (DSS), has reportedly arrested in Ogun state the Bus Rapid Transit, BRT, Driver who allegedly murdered the 22 years old fashion designer, Oluwabamise Ayanwole who boarded his bus.

According to reports, the operatives of the DSS arrested the suspect who bolted after the incident in the Odogbolu area of the state.

Speaking with newsmen, Adekunle Ajisebutu, the Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos State, noted that two persons linked to the driver were also arrested by the police.

The spokesman stated that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the lady’s disappearance was initiated immediately the report reached the Nigerian police and the Commissioner of Police immediately instructed the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti to take over the case in order to ensure a speedy and diligent investigation. He added:

“In the course of ongoing investigation, two suspects have been arrested and are currently helping in our investigation.

“While assuring that police detectives will continue to work assiduously to find the missing lady and bring her abductors to justice, the Command wishes to appeal to anyone with useful information that could help in our investigation to promptly give it to us for further necessary actions,” he added.

Ajisebutu stressed that the initial investigation revealed that Bamise may have been pushed down while the bus was on motion

This is even as he stated that efforts are ongoing by the Lagos State Police Command to take over the suspect from the DSS.

Earlier today, Bamise’s body was found along the Carter Bridge by Ogogoro Community and has been taken to the mortuary.

On Saturday, February 26, the deceased had reported missing while he was returning to Ota from Ajah. She reportedly boarded a BRT bus going to Oshodi at about 7 p.m at Chevron Bus Stop, the bus stop closed to Chevron Estate where she was working as a fashion designer before her death.

She met the untimely death while returning to meet her sister at Ota, Ogun State where she used to spend her weekends.

Her missing later resulted in outrage with JusticeForBamise trending on Twitter and other social media platforms.
