Nigerian Government has written a letter to the International community, where it listed some of the atrocities committed by the embattled leader of the indicted Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Federal government pick-pointed, in the letter, that Nnamdi Kanu orchestrated the killing of 60 persons and destruction of property in 55 violent attacks across the South-East and South-South Zones within four months.

Since the news of the arrest of Kanu hit media space, Nigerians have been sent in disarray as no one has no clue of when the government started planning on how the IPOB leader would be arrested and how on earth he’s being trapped and captured just like a rat that has no bodyguard.

However, reports have suggested that Kanu was lured to an African country with the promise of cash donation worth millions of dollars and was captured and bundled back to Nigeria.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the letter which was written and dated April 26, 2021, by the Nigerian government was sent to western diplomats.

In the letter, FG listed the alleged offences committed by the member of the separatist group on the instruction of their leader who was in exile then.

It was also listed in one of the attachments to the letter the attacks on lives and property by IPOB and its militia arm, Eastern Security Network (ESN) in some parts of the country between January and April 2021.

With several of Kanu’s broadcasts from Europe, there were concerns in official quarters that some western countries were justifying IPOB’s violent acts under the guise of the group’s pursuit of Biafra independence.

FG objected to a statement by an agency of a western nation whose government had noted that ESN was created to combat insecurity, through the letter from the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to some western countries.

In its letter, FG, however, considered the statement (by the western nation) as ” justifying the establishment of a militia by a non-state actor and glossing over the destructive and violent acts of IPOB and the ESN.”

“In under four months this year, IPOB has carried out over fifty-five (55) violent acts in various parts of South-East Nigeria killing scores of people and destroying many properties.

“Indeed it would seem that the position of the (western nation) seems to have further emboldened Nnamdi Kanu the self-confessed leader of IPOB.

The government also told the western nation that its position may seem to have further emboldened Kanu, adding that this may explain the increased tempo of attacks carried out by members of his group.
