The Billionaire’s Daughter, Jennifer Gates has spoken out about her parents’ divorce, saying their family has been going through “a challenging stretch of time”.
The 25-year-old daughter of the billionaire couples said this today in an Instagram post shared via her official verified Instagram account @jenniferkgates, following her parents’ shock divorce announcement on Monday.
Jennifer, who is the eldest of Bill and Melinda Gates children, wrote on her Instagram story:
I’m still learning how to best support my process and emotions as well as my family members at this time and am grateful for the space to do so.
Bill Gates who is the Microsoft co-founder and worth an estimated $130 billion has two other children aside from Jennifer – a boy Rory, 22 and a 19-year-old girl, Phoebe.
The Gateses announced on Monday that they would be splitting after 27 years of marriage, saying that “we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.”
Jennifer has now taken to her Instagram to spoke about the new development in their family.
It’s been a challenging stretch of time for our whole family,” Jennifer wrote in her statement.
Jennifer stressed that she would not speak any further about the break-up but supports and kind words from her followers would be highly appreciated by her. She added:
“I won’t personally comment further on anything around the separation, but please know that your kind words and support mean the world to me.”
Jennifer concluded:
“Thank you for understanding our desire for privacy while we navigate the next phases of our lives.”
