When you heard that a man has been raising up his arm for 45 years and has never for once brought it down, what strikes your mind is disbelieve and impossibility. But the real fact here is that it really does happen. The man involved was a banker and a normal man who had once raised a family before he decided to do something different for the God.
In a documentary put together by It’s IVAN and posted on his Facebook page, the name of the man is Amar Bharati from India. He was a former banker and had once raised a family and lived a normal life.
But one day, he found religion and decided to devote his entire life to God. He decided to do something crazy that would take his entire attention away from the wordly things and make him focus only on God.
At first he found it very difficult and hard to give up the old life. It was very hard for him to give up things like delicious food, women, sex and his family; but in the end he managed to succeed.
In his thought, Amar decided in 1973 that he would raise his arm up to God and won’t bring it down for the rest of his life. He believed this will take his attention away from every other things and make him concentrate only on God.

At first, the pains in his hand was so intense that he had to sit by the wall, relax his back while still holding the hand up and tied it up to help him keep it in the vertical position. He believed that by constantly raising the hand up to the sky, God would slowly begin to notice him until he gets the required attention. And so, he has held the hands up since then.
Raising the hands up for so long has now stopped the blood flow and rendered the hand useless, as the cells were dead. The hand became frozen with time and can no more come down, even if he wants. Moreso, he no more feel any pains nor any sensitivity in the arm again.
Because of this peculiar feat, people now throng his home to pay their respect to him and even seek blessings from him.
His perseverance, patience and determination have been able to mentor very many number of people who now see him as a symbol of dedication. His dedication has motivated thousands of people all around the world, and showing them that when you put your mind into achieving a certain feat, you will be able to do it as long as you are dedicated.
