Five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo has made his intention known that he has ended his football playing career in Europe as he’s not thinking about returning to play in any clubs in Europe.
The Al Nassr forward said this while speaking to Portuguese journalists about his future and he’s very clear.
“I won’t return to European football, forget about it — the door is completely closed,” he said.
Ronaldo said further that he’s now 38 years of age which is one of the reasons why he can never think of returning to European football, adding that European football has also lost lots of quality.
He argued that the only valid one among all the top European leagues that is still doing fine is English Premier League, saying the EPL is way ahead of others. He said;
“I’m 38 years old, also European football has lost lot of quality… only valid one is Premier League, they’re way ahead of all the other leagues”.
“I’m 100% sure I won’t return to any European club. I opened the way to Saudi league… and now all the players are coming here”.
In what looks like a shade at his longtime rival, Lionel Messi who just moved to Major League Soccer, Cristiano Ronaldo said Saudi League is far better than MLS
“Saudi league is BETTER than MLS,” he said.
