Manchester City star, Raheem Sterling rescued the England National Team from playing a draw in their opening game in the ongoing European Championships against Croatia at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Sterling who faced much criticism from fans and sports pundits across the world over his woeful display in the Champions League final has proved doubters wrong with an outstanding show in England’s 1-0 victory over Croatia.
England was defeated 2-1 by Croatia in the semi-final of the 2018 World Cup but The Three Lions proved too strong for the Vatreni this time around. Thanks to a lone goal by Sterling.
The two sides played a goalless draw in the first of the game but the Manchester City star scored the only goal of the game in the 57th minute assisted by Kalvin Phillips.
The England national team, having defeated the Vatreni will now be looking forward to a big game against Scotland on 18 June.
