I was half asleep on my bed when my phone ranged on that fateful morning. I stood up, picked up the phone, and, oh, it was a call from my good friend, Adewale Michael, a seasoned Agricultural Scientist.
I thought he wanted to speak with me on a new farm that I had earlier asked him to assist me oversee its cultivation, since I had never cultivated one before, but my ever-lively friend, who would ordinarily throw a jibe at me at the beginning of a call, sounded very down and gloomy.
I immediately noticed something was wrong! “Michael what happened,” I asked. And in a solemn and sober tone, “I have lost my mother,” he retorted.

The rest is history, as we all came to the realization that our good mother and a fine soul, Madam Elizabeth Mojirade Adewale, was gone.
For those of us who had the opportunity of meeting Mama in her lifetime, Mrs Elizabeth Mojirade Adewale was one person you could not but admire and respect. Her virtue, her strength and ability to rally round her children would make anyone stand in awe. She was so dear to her family and people around her that on the breaking of the news of her death, they were all grieved to the spine.
That was not because they had expected her to live forever, but because it was so hard for all of them to say goodbye to the beautiful soul.

Mama Elizabeth represented everything good in her lifetime. She was a mother per excellence; a strong woman and a champion who never blinked. She lived her life in the ways of the Lord and loved her children very well. She was indeed a fine soul.
Born on the 6th of April, 1960 to the family of Mr and Mrs Ezekiel and Wuraola Oyegbemi of Elemosho’s Compound of Okuku, Mama took her first priority in education by making sure she didn’t grow up as an illiterate. She attended St. Michael’s Anglican Primary School, Okuku, Osun state between 1966 and 1971, where she had her basic primary school education.

Life then was extremely different from what it is now as people did have the opportunity of choosing their path and career early in life. As a result of her deep passion for business, Mama ventured directly into business after her primary education. She was personate about her business and never lost concentration.
Fast forward to 6th of January, 1978, She got married to Late John Adewale Ayanleke of Alawe’s compound of Okuku in a blessed union that produced seven fruits: six males and one beautiful female.
It is worthy of note that a year after their marriage, the husband and wife living so much in love, decided to migrate from Okuku to Ilesha in search of greener pastures. And even there, the couples lived a life of dedication to work and service to the Lord.
Mama was a cheerful giver while also exhibiting a high degree of tolerance to everyone around her. She loved her home and everyone around her. She brought her children up in the ways of the Lord Christ and taught them how to respect values and culture. She taught them to love and never discriminate, and indeed lived the life of a virtuous wife to her husband and a tender mother to all her children.

Mama was close to God and took the fellowship of the Lord Christ with the utmost devotion. She had the heart of gold and would rather rally round anyone who needed help.
Elizabeth Mojirade was beautiful all round: in body, spirit and soul, such that when the cold hands of death took her away on the 7th of September, 2021, the indelible picture she left behind was that of a heart of gold and dedication to the service of God and humanity.
Mama is being missed a lot. The family are missing her kindness, the church are missing her devotion to the church of the Lord, while the children are missing that special part of her motherhood which binds them all together as one.

Already, the void that her death has created is becoming impossible to fill by anyone. Her passing has created a wide gap that only gets even farther by minutes and becoming more real as days roll on.
Mama will always missed for all her care. She will be missed for being a good wife and mother. She will be missed for all her support and prayers. She will be missed, most importantly, for being a strong pillar who supported her family and nurtured all the children to maturity.
Until the last day that all will gather at the bossom of the Lord, May she dances on to meet Jesus our Lord.
Adieu Mama!!!
